I am looking forward to this as a Clipse fan but I just cannot see it being in the same league as HHNF. It's all a little too happy for a misanthrope such as myself. Popeyes was sick though.

Uh, this is tight. That electro mariachi beat is fresh, Clipse both come off on this (especially Pusha), and the chorus isn't that bad at all.
Malice didn't totally go overboard with the evangelism on this track, but he came close. I hope he keeps that shit in check. Dropping religious analogies is appreciated and one of things I love about the Clipse, but beseeching people to come to the Lord and repent on braggadocio songs where the other emcee(s) are talking about girls, cars, and money (eg, "Popular Demand") fucks up the vibe of the song.

I might catch flack for this but, I always thought the Clipse were over-rated and jocked way to hard on . They got some good lines. Sure but, this is not all that dope. HHNF had some cuts but, still wasn't impressed. That's it.

meh. not crazy about this.
not that this is a flagrantly clubby track or anything but i don't understand why these guys don't just accept that they'll never make a huge radio hit every again and go back to making good old hard shit for their fans.
nothing is worse than when good artists water their shit down to pander to a listenership that is unattainable.

I don't know if he's an Evangelical. All I know is while Pusha's rubbing it in Lebron James' face that he banged his Madonna-looking girlfriend on a hotel balcony, Malice is admonishing hustlers to repent and come to the Lord. The Afronaut wrote:Whats the deal w/that...dude is evangelical now?Icesickle wrote:Malice didn't totally go overboard with the evangelism on this track, but he came close.

"I'm Good" is a really good single. I'd be suprised if it doesn't become a hit or isn't already on the radio a lot.True King wrote:isnt I'm Good a huge radio hit in southern markets? i heard it was doin real wellBlockhead wrote:meh. not crazy about this.

i have no idea about what gets played on the radio but even if it hits really big in one market,i feel like there is a low ceiling on how big the clipse can get. "grindin" is the most they will ever blow up. to be honest, it's not their fault really, that's just the way shit is now in the music business. they'll never go gold ever no matter how much radio play they get. it's unfortunate but true.True King wrote:isnt I'm Good a huge radio hit in southern markets? i heard it was doin real wellBlockhead wrote:meh. not crazy about this.

it's clear these guys are not going where Lil Wayne has gone.
these guys are in a weird spot now.
christ, that's not the real album cover is it?
