Welcome to T.R.O.Y mightymaze, DCthetruth, and Da Me.

A certain little batch of tracks have always confused me about the samples for them. These are two of them that I just figured out that it's the same sample but can't remember the sample for the life of me right now:

Da Bush Babees - Remember We
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QERaguIRaks&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QERaguIRaks&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

L. The Head Toucha - It's Your Life
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/layRbTc7ZxI&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/layRbTc7ZxI&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

So not only did L The Head Toucha's track sample the same record as Da Bush Babees, but they also sample that same Bush Babees track for the hook. I wonder if they just sampled the instrumental from the Bush Babess? Regardless, both great tracks are great.
If anyone can remember what they sampled, let me know. I've heard it and probably own it but I can't remember.
:sherlock:

Salaam Remi did the Bush Babees beat and Vinyl reanimators did the L. The Head Toucha one, so I doubt any shenanigans went on. VR were probably just showing/proving their skills by flipping the same record and sampling the Salaam remi one to show that they knew it was use already, I'm guessing.
Dopeness either way.

Got it, kotep:
Les Mccann - She's Here
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/sh ... on=8,0,0,0" width="335" height="28" id="divplaylist"><param name="movie" value="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist? ... 044975-5c3" /><embed src="http://www.divshare.com/flash/playlist? ... 044975-5c3" width="335" height="28" name="divplaylist" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashpl ... d></object>
http://www.divshare.com/download/12044975-5c3

Most of the records I like from him are on Atlantic, but I can see how he's such a common crate dweller that you would guess it was a CTI since they seem to fill up crates too.

I don't how many have peeped this newer joint by Oxygen from Sputnik Brown, but it's a pretty great diggin track:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7t7u4CGZyjQ&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7t7u4CGZyjQ&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
the singing on the hook is from around after 2:30 from this Stark Reality joint:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8aqALiyvLTY&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8aqALiyvLTY&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I'm looking for the sample used in B.U.M.S.'s track "Take a Look Around".
It's that dope horn loop from the beginning and the hook. I know it's from a song called "Never Can Say Goodbye" written(?) by Clifton Davis but there are so many different performers to that song like Isaac Hayes, Gloria Gaynor and Jackson 5 and i couldn't find the right one. :/
So I would like to know the exact song from what this sample is.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the props, fellas. It does definitely inspire me to keep on with it. I went diggin yesterday and only caught like 4 records in the dollar crates but found this on one of them:
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rrTb3uHeXDY&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rrTb3uHeXDY&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bUoHMKJ9LCk&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bUoHMKJ9LCk&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Also found the sample for Shit Is Real by Black Moon. I just googled it, saw that it's known, but couldn't find a link for yall. If anyone really needs it, I'll rip it. It's "Love Song To Katherine" by John Klemmer. I got it off a best of type LP but it's originally from his 1974 "Intensity" LP.

I've had that Rotary Connection LP in the past but I guess I didn't realize that sample was on it. That's the one with the one sound from Bonita Applebum.

Yeah I'm pretty schooled on Gil Scot Heron and I never noticed that one. Props LG.
Speaking of Brainsick, here's the real sample, not the one on "the-breaks", for Mixmaster USA:

He's been sampled so many times I don't even wanna open that book. Especially on "We Almost Lost Detroit".

Missy Elliot used it too, but sorry, I really can't stand her face or her music. Just one of those people that as soon as you see or hear them, you can't help but hate them for some reason and you can't even place the reason. It just is. Lol

^Me too.

@LG: that Eddie Kendricks is a classic. I love that infectious shit, everytime it comes on kissfm, I blast that shit. It's been used by quite a few others. Common's first album, Rhymefest's garbage album from a few years ago, to name a couple. Maybe I'll try to get 5 together for J Selectah's thread. Thanks to you.
EDIT: Here's the ones from the breaks, which doesn't have the one you posted or the rhymefest one I mentioned:
213 ft Latoiya Williams - "Another Summer"
Common - "A Penny for My Thoughts"
Ill Al Skratch - "Get Your Swerve On"
Oran 'Juice' Jones - "Player's Call"
Sparkle - "Time to Move On"
Sweet Sable - "Old Times Sake"

Oh damn, Verge, you were right...it's not the first time i come to this thread you know, but i guess you understand the reason for me to invest more time in my thread.....but hey, about the Eddie Kendricks track, it's so easy to pass the 5 samples...besides those names you have mentioned, you still have Herb Mcgruff, Ill Al Skratch, Sweet Sable, Grandmaster Caz & DJ Parker Lee, Falsalarma (Spain)...
Hey and i wonder, if you could help me out getting the source of two samples...

The first one, i've only heard this over two tracks...it sounds definitly from a soundtrack, probably...the second track is from Portugal...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_MrsUVRrbHI?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_MrsUVRrbHI?fs=1&hl=pt_BR" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/J9P55INVzGI?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/J9P55INVzGI?fs=1&hl=pt_BR" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

And now, the for the second source i need...i can use each one of the eight samples i have ready now, but i choose two only to show you which one i'm looking for...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3sRVd31kDGU?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3sRVd31kDGU?fs=1&hl=pt_BR" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uoaCYG_qomo?fs ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uoaCYG_qomo?fs=1&hl=pt_BR" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

While the Soul Kid Klik version samples another song too...my favourite one is Psych Wards version, i guess...they are all good actually...
"You should let your man speak on your behalf, because when i let my blade slice, you'll just be half!"

I know this samples Wildflower by Hank Crawford, but where did the "anything is everything" vocal sample come from?
