if you left off disc 2 ... it might be better than 1 of those albums
uh this was pretty tough, Ironman always felt like a group album, more so than Cuban Linx .. and Ghost wasn't top dogg on a few of the tracks, its still an incredible album but I'm not as big of fan as some of you
Reasonable Doubt is a raw JayZ before commercialism derailed his album quality, and it featuring the best duet Biggie ever did, the album gets a little weak at the end, but the first 8 tracks are all amazing
Stakes and ATLiens were just a little behind those too
yeah, the vote was for favorite not best, and reasonable doubt gets the most rotation still out of all these (though i just listened to ironman and atliens yesterday)
Yeah, I have no idea why Reasonable Doubt has so many votes when every record on the list with the sole exception of 2Pac's is better, and by a long shot.
Well, taste and taste, I wouldn't really say this pick represents mine all that well, but at the time it did. And more than anything it's a very good album. You're right, though, Me Against The World and Makaveli were both better than All Eyez On Me, and I'd go as far as to say that goes for R U Still Down as well. But again, it's a great album and I have had much enjoyment out of it, so as a nod to my then self I am comfortable making this pick despite the deserving alternatives.
I had to go w/ ATLiens since it's quite possibly my favorite rap album ever...surprised Makaveli (which I love) and Soul On Ice (which I hate but almost everyone else loves) weren't on here...I personally would also give some love to the very underrated '96 Geto Boys album The Resurrection...
I picked reasonable doubt with stakes is high and muddy battlin for second
dont know what it is about the jay z album, guess it was during that time
but brooklyns finest made it a wrap, I can see why others would think the others on the list were better, but as a personal fav gotta give it to reasonable doubt, just a shame that everything jay z made from there was downhill
