I was after a full version of this LL track 'Year Of The Hip Hop' since I heard Westwood play it once back in 94. Theres been a tape rip doing the rounds for a year or so but K Def is releasing it on 12" backed with a previously unreleased Real Live joint.
That Real Live joint is sounding good, too. Shame K Def didn't put that alleged unreleased 97 Real Live album out like he said he was. At least he's bringing some good unreleased joints out, though.
so it's gonna be only one LL track? that's good, but i think there are way way more unreleased LL songs out there. like that "double l - cools down" lp. let's hope they all make their way on vinyl or cd...
Thanks for revealing that records store Step One, I never knew about them. I'm lookin forward to the unreleased material. K-Def has been especially good at releasing some of his unreleased work in recent years to us diggers that truly appreciate.

Wow, I really REALLY wanna peep that LL joint!! LL was one of my favorites up til '94/'95. "No Airplay" was one of the last LL joints I truly loved... Thank god for that 12" with the dirty version.
So am I just not seeing where I can peep an audio snippet of the LL & K-Def joint?

I've got a muddy sounding tape rip I can post up later if you want.
Has this actually dropped anywhere yet? HMV and Rough Trade still had it as forthcoming last I checked. I hate ordering stuff until its actually out as you can end up waiting ages.
