Thanks E and thanks for the December 15th, 1994 show (added).

By the way, would you be able to pester Stretch for that list he has of guests and shows (he also has a PDF of what he's already digitized I believe)?

He offered to send it out to help us some months back (and Verge and I both have bugged him about it since) but apparently he's been too busy for us regular folk.

Props to dirty waters / Nes for the January 25th, '96 show with DJ Eclipse, Funky Jilz and Ghetto Communicator and the February 18th, '96 show on Hot 97 (added). And to aleph for the June '98 Hot 97 show as well.

Thanks for all the recent playlist write ups everybody.

I'll see what's up with that Stretch list.

dirtywaters wrote:wow this 11/30 show is the one with Pete Rock in the studio, the night he played that unreleased 'greenbacks' joint. Bobbito told me the date was the 16th on this one. That unreleased Ol Dirty joint they're talking over at the end of the show I remember too, anyone have an mp3 of that?

Thanks again Eclipse, you have such an ill collection!
I got the Jay-Z Jaz Boogie and the barber comin up soon
TheBigSleep wrote:Yeah, wait, I'm not sure what the deal is here, can someone break it down?

Right now I got that Thursday, November 16th, 1995 is Group Home, Omiscence, Grap Luva and Pete Rock (which is what revisionist ass Bob told Nes) and Thursday, November 30th, 1995 is Wyclef, Pras and Mischief (which is what Nes / we guessed based on them saying last week was Thanksgiving during a mic break).

But now you guys are sayin' that the 30th is the Pete Rock show? Then what about the Fugees (minus Lauryn) and / or show on the 16th? I don't get it.

I mean, I can change it from the 16th to the 30th if we're sure about that, 'cause I definitely trust Eclipse's labeling (certainly more than Bob's memory) but that doesn't solve the issue of the other show or day, which I guess just goes back to being unknown and removed from the chronology for now?

Lemme know.

Either way, props to E on yet another show from the mid nineties.

Hopefully if we get to see the list that Stretch made it ends up being more reliable than Bob has been with the air dates.
Yeah, Iג€™d trust E's handwritten marked tape before Iג€™d trust Bobג€™s memory. The full roster of guests on this night: Myschief with his crew of mcs Child Forsaker(?) and Silencer, Wyclef, Pras, Roughneck Soldiers and Pete Rock. Pete does make a reference to Grap Luva being on a previous show so that might have been the Nov. 16th show.
dirtywaters wrote:I guess grap lover came through the week before (16th) without pete rock. i think i assumed PR was there, I remember he played all those INI joints that night way before that album came out. That's my mistake again, not Bobbito. I would say everything about the dates is correct except for pete rock came up the 30th and not the 16th. Bobbito helped me ID dates for a bunch of shows I posted, some dude that was interning for him helped me out. I emailed the dude about a full list of shows but haven't heard back.
Krisch wrote:I didn't have the time to listen to the show Eclipse upped yet. From what I understand we now assume that the 16th had just Grap Luva and the 30th just Pete Rock.

But there must exist one show where Pete Rock and I.N.I. were in the studio. That freestyle was released on the Wild Style Freestyle Allstars Volume 1 12" and on Rob-O's Rhyme Pro LP:

http://www.mediafire.com/?john1667vmbgkll

and another thing:

Thursday, November 16th, 1995 (Group Home, Omniscence, Grap Luva)

according to the tracklisting, Brainsick & Smiley The Ghetto Child were also in the studio

I don't have that many problems with megaupload. I know zshare doesn't work at all on my computer and some other people seem to have the same problems. I really hope megauplaod will keep working because I recent;y took the time to reupload a slew of shit using it. It seems to be the only alternative to zshare for free file hosting services.

Here is some more from the 11-16 show, this is Omniscence's part and the middle-end of the show. I don't have the INI freestyles so I guess they were up before Omniscence got on. This one has a lot of pauses on it

dirtywaters wrote:maybe multiupload might be good, but I've never used it to upload anything. It gives choices for various hosting sites including rapidshare and megaupload.

I agree about that Lifecheck remix, that was pretty dope. sounds like the same george benson record used for Common's I used to love her.

-SyLar- wrote:regarding megaupload i just refresh the page a couple times and it usually allows me to download. its not a mega problem that some people are making it out to be
well for me it doesnt really work like that..i can refresh it a hundred times and it still shows "file not available at the moment"..then when it works the download is just in "bits" (like it will download a bit..then stop..then download a bit again)..or it stops completely and the server doesnt respond anymore
I would stick with megaupload but that's just my opinion. When people have problems with it(i have myself) they usually fix themselves later on. And we can always re-up them on something else if a link just doesn't work for someone.

I would think that a problem with any of those mirror sites(multiupload/sharebee) would be that it may be tough to track exactly where your uploads are if you wanted to get to them in the future. But I could be wrong, I dunno.

Mediafire is no good anymore, imo. Too many "corrupt file" and "may be a virus on this site" warnings. And if you were to actually buy a membership there, once a certain amount of people download from you, you have to buy more and more bandwidth which can fuck your pockets up.

Zshare is garbage nowadays, imo. I only mess with it for unimportant shit or in emergencies.

Rapidshare, I'm cool with but thats only cause I have an account there. I've seen a lot of hate on them lately from people without accounts.

Regarding the 8/13/98 show (Big L, Big Meal, Dirty Rat), it took plenty of rewinding/ff-ing to figure out but this is the deal-

Somehow bombaג€™s recording missed the section starting with Big Lג€™s free up to Dirty Ratג€™s appearance. The current upload is in reverse order; ג€œSide Aג€ should start with Big L and ג€œSide Bג€ should start w/Big Meal.

With bombaג€™s version the correct order should be as follows:

Part 1
Keith Murray- Incredible
Funkmaster Flex ft. Noreaga, Big Pun- Thug Brothers
Prince Poetry & QB- Long Distance
Missin Linx- MIA
Delinquent Habits- Western Ways 2
Ghostface Killah- Cobra Clutch
Willie Stubz- Pimpin
Buckshot & Rock- Eye of the Scorpio
Sauce Money ft. Jay-Z- Pre-Game
American Cream Team- Giant Size
Tash- Bermuda Triangle
Mic break
Missin Linx- Lockג€™d D
Shades of Culture- Do The Math
MOP ft. Heather B- My Kinda Nigga II
Barron Ricks- Harlem River Drive
MC Shan ft. Imam Thug, Tragedy- Bridge 2000
Pete Rock ft. Inspectah Deck, Kurupt- Tru Master
Big L partial interview

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L42DGQLJ

Part 2 (tracks IDed by BrandanEvans/Krisch)
Big L freestyle
Big L- Size Em Up
Fat Joe ft. Terror Squad- Terror Squadians
Heltah Skeltah- Worldwide (Rock the World)
Big L- Ebonics
Brand Nubian- The Return
Armageddon- My Prerogative (off Fat Joe - Don Cartagena LP)
(The remaining songs are in fact, from another show.)
&
Part 3 (tracks IDed by BrandanEvans/Krisch)
Big Meal freestyle
Black Star ft. Common- Respiration
Big Meal- Put It On Em
Inspectah Deck- R.E.C. Room
Dwellas- Stand Up
Royal Flush ft. Noreaga- What A Shame
Diezzle Don & Gov Mattic ft. Redman- Ghetto Red Hot
M.O.P.- Downtown Swinga ג€˜98
Dirty Rat- ????
Dirty Rat freestyle

http://sharebee.com/610c2277

Part 4
Medina Green- Crosstown Traffic
Ras Kass- H2O Proof
Scaramanga ft. Godfather Don- Special Efx
Dirty Rat- ????
Gang Starr ft. M.O.P.- 1/2 & 1/2
Pete Rock ft. Posdnous, Rob-O- Stay Away
Krunchtime

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D1FAZ633

This also helps us narrow down the date of the Hot 97 Big L show. On that show Stretch & Bob kinda picked up where the KCR interview left off, bringing up Thereג€™s Something About Mary again (a movie L had absolutely no interest in seeing, but S&B persisted in talking about it). Since the Sunday following that Thursday- August 16, 1998 is already spoken for (Saafir & Jigmastas), itג€™s very likely to have been Sunday, August 23.

Peace bomba

No doubt, glad everyone liked that DJ Daze show, that was one of my favorites too

Anyone want to help out with a track list for this show?? 1/2/97 show

Verge, as far as nights with Bobbito in the studio solo, I'm pretty sure about these but not positive...

3/23/1995 - This is the 3 part show that was posted already (with the adagio demo, grimm demo, etc..)

8/17/1995 - Pretty sure Bobbito was there in studio solo playing demos
(This may also be the show when Tony Bones, Mr Live, and Breezly Brewin rhymed over that Monch beat tape but not sure)

Preempted show dates (dates when show was not on air)
-December 1, 1994
- March 30, 1995
- April 6, 1995
- June 8, 1995
- November 23, 1995
- December 21, 1995

I've been getting geeked out doing detective work and the whole 9 lol

Thanks Nes. That helps, everything helps. I know it's been talked about a while ago, but I once again forgot what those beats were that they were rhyming on, shits were illll. Monch beats, wow.

I don't remember if it was one of your rips or not, but there was a show with Pumpkinhead and Poops where they flowed over some beats I didn't recognize either, maybe F.Boom(F.B, who did all those PH/Poops demos/promos) beats? I dunno. But the show or freestyle part cut short. If I go back and find it, I remember the next rhymes PH was gonna say, lol. Pretty sure it's the one where he says something about, "...roaches, not the kind that dreads be tokin but the kind that jump out of appliances while your making toastn.." Hahaaa.

Also, Bob sent me and Nes a few dates/guests, thanks to Nes again. He got me the date for that Lord Digga night in my sig.
I'll just pm the dates to TBS, but here's the date for the Lord Digga one I been looking for, if anyone might have it:

3/26/98 Lord Digga, Craig G, Sporty Thieves

Looks like Bob got back to you guys with a couple more air dates, awesome.
Verge wrote:I would stick with MegaUpload but that's just my opinion. I would think that a problem with any of those mirror sites (Multiupload / Sharebee) would be that it may be tough to track exactly where your uploads are if you wanted to get to them in the future. But I could be wrong, I dunno.
MegaUpload links seem to still be active up to years later when other links aren't. That said, they do have temporary problems where you do have to wait and none of these sites are foolproof or perfect. MegaUpload does seem the best / closest to what we want though, providing the least problems and necessary re-ups.

I'm not sure what you mean about the mirror sites though (and I'm wondering because that's what I plan to use for the Stretch and Bob site). You mean, if the hosting site went down, like what happened to MassMirror and ShareOnAll? 'cause that's definitely a concern but if I have all the files downloaded / backed up already, then I can just re-up them as they die out. For stuff I don't have (which isn't much as of right now) I'd obviously have to rely on others.

Biggest shouts for the History of Hip Hop Radio connect on the blog, much appreciated.
No doubt, it hadn't been mentioned on the T.R.O.Y. blog since you first posted it a couple years back so it seemed like time. Here's a link for those who don't know:

http://www.thetroyblog.com/2010/11/09/t ... d-bobbito/

In addition to snippets of early Stretch and Bob, there's a list of shows Bob wrote for VIBE back in '94 and an exclusive article he penned for their book in '99, check it out while you're there listenin' to Verge's interview with Bobbito.
Verge wrote:Bob sent me and Nes a few dates / guests, thanks to Nes again. I'll just PM the dates to TBS.
Got 'em, great work guys.

Bobג€™s WKCR info:

Thursday, January 14th, 1993 (Down South, Funkaholics, Anonymous MCs)
Thursday, October 14th, 1993 (Q-Tip, Flip Top, Cella Dwellas, Lord Digga, Rahzel)
Thursday, October 21st, 1993 (UMCs, Buckwackas)
Thursday, November 18th, 1993 (Hard 2 Obtain, Artifacts, J. Burn, Tone the Butcher, Grand Ghetto)
Thursday, March 31st, 1994 (Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Craig G, Lord Sear)
Thursday, September 15th, 1994 (Lord Finesse, Da Bush Babees, Mad Scientist)
Thursday, December 7th, 1995 (Smooth B, J Live, Big Daddy Kane, The Nation, Brooknam Rangers, Swift, Jay-Z)
Thursday, March 26th, 1998 (Lord Digga, Craig G, Sporty Thieves)

That displaces two dates that we werenג€™t sure of though. The Parallax and J-Treds show was marked as October 14th, ג€™93 and now doesnג€™t have a day attached to it. Same with Smif-N-Wessun / Cocoa Brovas on March 26th, ג€™98. Bob's probably right in this case but that leaves those two shows outta the chronology for now.

New WKCR info:

Thursday, April 20th, 1995 (DJ Eclipse)
Thursday, April 27th, 1995 (Diezzle Don, Tha Governor, Judge Mental, Crime Fam, Xzibit, King Tee)
Thursday, April 18th, 1996
Thursday, January 2nd, 1997

New Hot 97 info:

Sunday, February 25th, 1996 (Jay-Z, Jaz-O)
Sunday, June 16th, 1996 (Heltah, Skeltah, Shabaam Sahdeeq)

Additional WKCR info:

Thursday, November 11th, 1993 (Kool Keith, OC, Large Professor, Organized Konfusion, Mr. Complex, TR Love, Force of One)
Thursday, November 24th, 1994 (Obscene Questions)
Thursday, December 15th, 1994 (Born Allah, Earth Quake)
Thursday, November 16th, 1995 (Group Home, Omiscence, Grap Luva, Brainsick, Smiley the Ghetto Child)
Thursday, November 30th, 1995 (Myschief, Child Forsaker, Silencer, Wyclef Jean, Pras, Roughneck Soldiers, Pete Rock)

Additional Hot 97 info:

Sunday, December 21st, 1997 (DJ Premier)

Props to Eclipse for the April 20th, April 27th and November 30th, ג€™95 shows and the April 18th, ג€™96 show, to aleph for the June 16th, ג€˜96 Hot 97 show and additional August 13th, ג€™98 links, to dirtywaters / Nes for the additional November 16th, ג€™95 link, the February 25th, ג€™96 Hot 97 show and the January 2nd, ג€™97 show and to IRISH_CRAIG for the other half of the June 15th, ג€™95 show.

And to aleph, Bobbito, dirtywaters / Nes, Krisch, Verge and Wicked / DeeZyDogg for the info and tracklistings as well.
