It's almost like they took 2 random heavyweights out of a hat and put them in there. Pettis vs Guida is the fight I wanted to see since the draw, and Thiago Silva vs Rampage is a great fight. Also, I can't wait to see how many people pick Couture over Machida just because of his performance against Rampage. If Vera and Nogueira can drop Couture I'm confident that Machida will be able to finish him.
I'm excited for TUF but I like just about anything. I can't stand Brock haters, he's a legit fighter even if he's not the most knowledgable at the moment. I'm torn though, I'm a Huge JDS fan but i don't want to see Brock take two L's in a row.
I don't give a fuck if Brock can't teach much, he'll bring in coaches which is fine with me. Same with JDS he'll probably have the Nogs there teaching bjj.
I'm excited for Couture VS Machida too. I've been seeing mixed reactions to it.

The Couture vs Machida fight is decent, and I'd wish there were other options, but this seems like this is the only fight out there for both fighters. It makes sense for the UFC because it's probable Machida will win, but if Couture wins they will have a reason to put him in the title match like they want or he can leave on a high note. Interesting fight because of how Rampage controlled Machida on the cage as well. Good fight for business, but I'm not excited about it. If Machida wins I would like to see him fight the winner of Griffin and Franklin.bbatson1 wrote:I'm excited for TUF but I like just about anything. Also, anyone else really excited for 2011? So many good match ups and cards announced. Just realized (or maybe I forgot) that Nogueira is fighting Tito. Same card is Hardy vs Johnson. Good step in the right direction for a Fight Night, and there shouldn't be any excuses for poor cards with all of the talent they acquired from the WEC.

I don't know about that. Although he is a fantastic fighter I think his rankings have been overinflated by the fact that he has been fighting at featherweight.Cleanhobo wrote:Jose Aldo will crush anyone.kato wrote:I don't think WEC lightweights can hang with most top ufc lightweights.Kid That's Lifeless wrote:It looks like Pettis is going to fight Guida. Honestly, I think Pettis takes this.
Prior to the WEC-UFC merger fighting at featherweight was tantamount to fighting in the minor leagues. If you where really good you would fight at 155 and hope to make it into the UFC and get paid.
I predict an influx of wrestleboxers coming into the weight class and making it a much deeper talent pool (and much less fun to watch).

Herschel Walker actually looked about 100x better tonight. More fluid in the stand-up, controlled pretty well on the ground. Resembled a legitimate (but not exactly top-tier) mixed martial artist. Left his leg in there for quite a while... fully expected him to get caught in a kneebar. I can't lie- I was impressed, primarily with his poise and the fact that he seemed to be aware of what was going on at all times.
Wasn't exactly a polished, established opponent... but it certainly wasn't another Greg Nagy.
