Dont think this ones been done before. He's never really dropped a brick so this could be interesting...(Im gonna discount the EMC album and ED OG collabo - they're decent but not really in the race)
- Take A Look Around (1990)
- Slaughtahouse (1993)
- Sittin On Chrome (1995)
- Disposable Arts (2001)
- Long Hot Summer (2004)
I'm going with Take A Look Around with Slaughtahouse in a close 2nd. I really love that early 90's Marley Marl sound where he was using such classic loops and breaks, plus Ace's creativity as a writer throughout his debut album. The bonus cuts are a great addition to that album as well

Slaughtahouse. He was never one of my favorite emcees but he always made good songs and albums. Even the last two were, to me, surprisingly really good for this century.
I either bought the yellow Slaughtahouse tape on the same day with Fat Joe's debut or the Trendz album. Good days.
went with sittin on chrome. tough one between slaughterhouse and sittin on chrome. I always dug his style, but I hardly ever listen to either these two.
I dig the flaves

Voted for Take A Look Around, but I like most of his standout tracks from the first three lps.
He was really opposed to the mid 90s gangsta phase in the east coast, there was one interesting interview where he mentioned being at a Zulu Nation event where kids were singing along to Mad Lion's track (Shoot To Kill?), and it pissed him off.
Slaughtahouse the track makes me laugh to this day.
edit-does anyone have the definitive reason for the beef with Fat Joe? I read it was over the Rico Suave line or something in Born 2 Roll/Jeep Ass Niguh but when I started browsing the web much later there were various other stories on forums including something about graf or something like that.
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג straw hat with a feather in it.
Tim Dog: גWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iגm gonna do that shit in my video. Iגm gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatגs Tim Dog gonna wear?ג
I prefer Mad Green Ace over Hardcore Ace. As much as I love The Mad Wunz, Crazy Drunken Style, The Big East, Jeep Ass Niguh, Saturday Nite Live, etc., there's something about joints like I Got Ta, Can't Stop the Bumrush, Letter to the Better, Movin' On, Brooklyn Battles, etc. that just wins me over.
I also think Slaughtahouse suffers a bit for following that mad "look-at-me-i-belong-in-a-straitjacket" trend so prominent by 93, even if his remains a stellar example. Plus it was more of a group dynamic with Lord Digga and them, and Look Around is completely him.

Huge Lord Digga fan here, i think there's about 8 of us worldwide, lol. But yeah, I do love Brooklyn Battles, Letter To The Better, I Got Ta and all those joints too.
That Lost Tapes record he put out in 2001 was damn good, too:
I know this song so well that i thought it was on that first album. Great shit.
Scared Of The Dark
Wake Me When I'm Dead
I don't remember these by title.
I wonder what else is in the vaults?
I'm sure there's plenty as we've seen even the most random one 12" having artists releasing tons of vaulted music, I'm sure someone like Ace has plenty in the vaults.
Ok, duh, now I know what Wake Me When Im Dead is, dope. Listening to "Scared Of The Dark" now, never heard it. Tough since I'm so used to hearing Beatnuts over that sample but still, its dope. Definitely some transitional shit between the first 2 albums. Without the hook, I could see this on Slaughtahouse.

yeah, I was thinking that. something around 92 with some Pete Rock or Large Pro beats couldve been great.
Shame he never dropped a full set in the late 90s aswell - he had some good features and indie 12"s round that time though.

'Dispoable Arts,' but I have a huge sentimental connection to that record and the time in my life that it dropped. Love its three predecessors though.
