Following up on a story we posted earlier today about Transformers 4, director Michael Bay added the following confirmation on his official site:
There has been a lot of speculation about what I'm going to do next and when or if I will do another Transformers. So let me set the record straight.
I have just concluded a deal with Paramount to do two movies, but it won't be two Transformers.
I will first do 'Pain & Gain' with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.
Then I will do the next Transformers for release on June 27, 2014.
-Michael Bay
To reiterate, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura told us earlier that "we're going to try to do a hybrid there where there will be some characters that come forward--we think, we're still in the process of figuring it out--and some characters that don't, but it will definitely be a different story."

it MAY be something just SLIGHTLY less than atrocious, now that we might get a franchise reboot since there will be no Shia Leboeuf

Very true. The only redeeming quality was the forest fight scene.Reggie wrote:It was better than the second one, but that's more a testament to Transformers 2 being an abominable and insulting piece of shit.Random Sample wrote:Really?capable_keL wrote:Dark of The Moon was so bad I can't give the blu ray away
I enjoyed that one more than the second one.

to be honest I am actually pretty offended with what they have done with the series. Optimus Prime is supposed to be a beacon of hope in an otherwise dark mean scary world. He is the ultimate good guy, always does the right thing, always shows mercy, always willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good.
In these movies they have turned him into a merciless killing machine. He's a monster, infact he's more of a bad guy than megatron.
In the third movie, he fakes his and the rest of the autobots own death, leaving LA completely undefended to be totally destroyed by the decepticons. Hundreds of thousands of innocent humans are killed. He does this because "its the only way the humans would realize the truth (that decepticons cant be trusted and autobots are their only hope)."
The real optimus prime would never do something like this. basically sacrificing a city in order to teach the humans a lesson.
Later on, at the end of the film, Prime executes his former mentor Sentinel. Sentinal is completely helpless and begging for mercy and Prime puts a bullet in his brain proclaiming that he's going to "kill them all"- referring to the decepticons. The true optimus would never do something like this. It's just rediculous.

excellent point - not the optimus i grew up watching but perhaps optimus has grown aggressive to mirror the age in which we live?hustler wrote:to be honest I am actually pretty offended with what they have done with the series. Great points, but I also agree with Kel. And I don't think there was a way that 9 Autobots could've won against all those Decepts without getting a little dark.capable_keL wrote:excellent point - not the optimus i grew up watching but perhaps optimus has grown aggressive to mirror the age in which we live?hustler wrote:to be honest I am actually pretty offended with what they have done with the series.
