pretty funny, but I thought it was weird how they made fun of movies being lazy/cliche and then did alot of the same buddy cop stuff we've seen a million times
some jokes were dead in the water/overkill, that bit at the end particularly
still one of the funnier movies i've seen in theaters in a while. felt like an actual movie instead of a series of jokes like alot of the apatow-crew movies do.
the point was that while poking fun of the cliches they weren't above them. the first joke in this vein was about how the highschool undercover shit was an old program from the 80s they're bringing back cause they're too unoriginal to come up with something new.
this movie is absolutely hilarious. as a pothead who smokes before every movie, OMFG i haven't laughed that hard at that many scenes since stepbrothers

its not that i didnt like it, but it wasnt like 20 years after i was still talking about it like it was an important or special show. it was neither. it was a cop show, about the same as csi miami.

This is what I was thinking of when I said I wouldn't say shit b/c I'd be making overstatements.
It slots below Stepbrothers and Superbad for me (and prolly Talladega too), but not by much.

That's fair. It might even move up over time because it isn't one note like "Step Brothers" ... I said it!
Stepbrothers>>>>>>Superbad>21 jump street>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>talladega nights (it really shouldn't even be on the conversation)
