60 bills very well spent. A double cd (which actually contains some instrumentals and acapells too), seven 7" singles (each a different color!), a puzzle, a poster and I think there was one other thing.

If you want Pork and all their other remixes and shit, go get Sold My Soul. Plus, my name (revealing my secret identity?) is in the liner notes. I got to help out on that project.

Picked up the box set today.

I probably have most of these tracks, but this is my favorite Hip Hop album, so having a physical copy of anything related to it is good with me.

Looking forward to reading the liner notes, and finally having a good quality copy of the 4 Better or 4 Worse instrumental.

Not too much to say about this pack. Leading off is another excellent find on SoundCloud. Artistix was kind enough to give me a nice quality file to share with everyone. He also gave me a few suggestions for what else heג€™d like to hear in the pack. If you like this remix, check out his other work HERE. A solo track from Imani, I donג€™t know about you but Iג€™d like to hear more from Citizen Strange. A remix off the ג€œPlain Rapג€ album by Scram Jones (nice list of projects heג€™s worked on) and another solo track, this time from Booty Brown. Rounding it out is a remix from DJ DUS (aka DJ Dusty Olivera). Not the strongest remix Iג€™ve ever heard, but an incredibly infectious beat that has kept this remix in my rotation for years now.

Suggestions are always welcome, pheel phree to leave a comment.

Emerald Butterfly and one other Labcabin bonus cut were both on Sold My Soul. So they were excluded from these comps. But I can certainly upload a nice mp3 of it on Monday if you want it. I know it's not the same as having the 7".

I can't believe I never knew Imani and Booty Brown had solo releases. they're the kind of thing I'd have probably spent ages trying to track down had I even known they existed. both tracks are just 'okay' if I'm being honest but good to hear them anyway. these packs have definitely made phridays a bit more phun lately

I hear you. Not mind blowing by any stretch, but still good to hear some solo work.

Only 2 more packs to go.

For those who purchased the box set, don't forget to break out the CD. There's a version of I'm That Type of Nigga with alternative lyrics (though no verse from Buc)

There's also an acapella version of 4 Better or 4 Worse, which is great because I finally was able to figure out what Tre was singing during the last section of the song.

I wonder if they have anything else planned for the 20th anniversary of this album's release. Would love to one day hear the track "My Man" that was mentioned in Brian Coleman's book.

Here we go again. 2nd to last pack and I hope that everyone has been enjoying this series. First up is a SoundCloud gem from DJ Phaze (whatג€™s up Perth?) followed by another solo track from Bootie Brown, different spelling than usual, then a collabo with a former NFL wide receiver from the Carolina Panthers. Next we come to the mystery instrumental. This one popped up on a cd single back in 2000 and I always assumed it would have been used on Lipג€™s album, had it not be delayed for 5 years. Or maybe it was just an extra beat from Edy Crahp who produced a couple other tracks for Fatlip. And taking the #5 slot is nice vinyl only remix coming out of Hyogo, Japan.

Suggestions are always welcome, pheel phree to leave a comment. Although time is running out.

Phriday Phun Pack #11
01 The Pharcyde-Passin By Clarence Reid (itsphizzle remix) (2011?)
02 Bootie Brown-I Smoke (2003)
03 The Pharcyde & Raghib ג€œRocketג€ Ismail-Gotcha Lookinג€™ (1996)
04 Fatlip-Edyג€™s Groove (Instrumental) (2000)
05 The Pharcyde-Runninג€™ (Remix by Shin-Ski of Martiangang) (2010)

And just like that, itג€™s already been 12 weeks and time to wrap this series up. Along the way Iג€™ve learned a few things. One, I always thought Slim Kid Tre and Fatlip were my favorite members. And maybe they were from the Bizarre Ride time period. But though this process I have certainly gained an incredible appreciation for Booty Brown and Imani. Two, I just have to accept that Bizzare Ride came along at just the right point in my life. No matter how badly I want a reunion or some new recording sessions to happen, Bizzare Ride will never be duplicated. Three, that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Four guys, four different styles, one incredible group. Plus tons of incredible producers! J-Sw!ft, LA JAY, Jay Dee and Buckwild just to name a few. And letג€™s not forget Quinton. Heג€™s on his way with another J. And everythingג€™s ok.

Hereג€™s the final breakdown. A dope Nu-Mark remix that popped up as a b-side during the RMXXOLOGY release. Was it just not submitted in time to make the album cut? Second, I picked up this beautiful instrumental in 2006 but only recently found out that it got the full remix treatment with vocals. In the #3 position is a real treat. The ג€œSoul Flower (Bare Bones Edit)ג€ track is a far-from-polished project that will never be finished. Originally planned as a five song series to go with the recent ג€œSingles Collectionג€ box set, this remix of sorts was built using the original multitrack and it never made it past the concept stage. It was created by breaking down the beat from its dense layers into separate parts, using only one section at a time (hence the ג€˜bare bonesג€™ nickname). Nothing new was added except for a few echo filters, but the powers that be werenג€™t feeling the idea so it got scrapped before the other four edits were begun. Next is some more Spaceboy Boogie X who has made a few appearances throughout this series. And the last track is a Mick Boogie special. From what I can remember, it was a mash-up he did after working on the promo mix for Peter Bjorn and John. And unusual pairing that he more than pulls off.

Phriday Phun Pack #12
01 The Pharcyde-4 Better Or 4 Worse (DJ Nu-Mark Remix) (2008)
02 Visioneers feat. The Pharcyde-Runninג€™ (Visioneers Remix) (2007)
03 The Pharcyde-Soul Flower (Bare Bones Edit) (2011)
04 Spaceboy Boogie X feat. Booty Brown-Back & Forth (2008)
05 The Pharcyde & Peter Bjorn and John-Nothing To Pass By (Mick Boogie Mix) (2009)

And who knows, if I find more quality material down the road Iג€™d be happy to put some more packs together.
