Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
No wonder the attack looked better against a team that tried to play against us. The midfield 3 was immense, Arteta and Cazorla is a joy to watch and there was good movement up front. Defense is solid as a rock and that's without Sagna or even the grit of Wilshere. In case Wenger not buying is a decision of his own I think the rationale is that we have more players this year than last year and failed to move on some of the useless players. Still would have liked some physical prescence in the midfield and a striker I think we'll suffer from that later down the line, but so far so good.
Good show from Norwich yesterday, Southampton are trying to pull off something similar right now, glad to have them back in the league.

don't get too carried away about the solidarity of the Arsenal defense, Pool's attack is pathetic.

"Solidarity" 3 clean sheets is nothing to sneeze @.
I like Sterling a lot btw.
RVP is the only United-player who looks threatening. Is MUFC a "one-man tem" yet?

Yeah me too, but he still only 17 and very small, asking a lot to rely on him for regular goals. him and joe allen were about the only bright spots for Pool. thought Sahin looked solid in his first appearance too, better than Gerrard.Comedy Quaddafi wrote:I like Sterling a lot btw.

This is obviously sarcasm. I'm well aware that west ham united is not a country. I've been following soccer since late february. forgive me if I'm not aware of the roster for the 1966 england football team. my apologies.odium-LSC wrote:Fully taking the piss. OK. Calm down. It's an oft used soccer joke which pokes fun at West Ham, so I thought you might have heard it/read about it.

Oh and if AVB can't get 6 points out of Reading and QPR or beat Lazio by a good measure, the lane will be alive with boos. Dembele and Ade better stop every match worth anything. Oh, I miss you Scott Parker.
And is much as I am loathe to say it, RVP is on fucking fire. Rooney who?

Yeah, it will be nice to get Parker back in September. Spurs still have Dempsey to integrate as well, there's room for improvement.b0mbs_of_death wrote:Oh and if AVB can't get 6 points out of Reading and QPR or beat Lazio by a good measure, the lane will be alive with boos. Hopefully AVB doesn't lose the team the way he did Chelsea.
LOL @ Comedy already trying to transfer the one man team meme. RVP just scored more goals in one game than Arsenal has all season, kid.
Liverpool dominated the game against Arsenal, but they just have no offensive firepower after Suarez. A good win for Arsenal, but Pool were hard done by.
Still an odd start to the season with all the teams getting used to their new players.

My fantasy team is a laughing stock and I feel buried with these faggots. Cisse and Gylfi have been shit at best.
Side note: I get a Spurs shirt every year (well, for the past 3 - Modric, VdV and Scotty Parker) and I was THIS CLOSE to getting an away Gylfi shirt for this season. FUCK. THAT. NOISE. Honestly though, this Bjork needs to step up. He was AWFUL on Saturday. Vomit inducing.

Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
I've got Cisse as well. Have to think he'll improve. In the meantime though Tevez, Michu and Dyer have been killing it.
On another note, despite the fact that they lost to Barcelona on a killer longrange shot from Adriano, I really like this Valencia squad. They added Cissohko to replace Alba and also got Joao Pereira (really solid RB) and Guardado (of the Mexican NT). With Jeremy Mathieu (who was injured for the game) and their dope CD duo Rami and Ruiz they've got the makings of a great defense, and it showed in the Barca game-Barca could only create a few clear cut chances.
In midfield they don't really have any one with name cachet (other than Ever Banega, tho mostly for the wrong reasons), but they have a ton of solid players like Tino Costa, Albelda (who's getting up there in age, but can never be written off), and Banega, who, when not injured, is super slick on the ball.
In attack they've got Soldado, who's great. He almost pulled off a dope move where he controlled a low line drive with his thigh so tht it brought him across Piqué and nearly curled a 25 yarder into the far post. A few times he was also wide open but his service let him down.
Feghouli in particular blew it a few times. Not a huge fan of him, but he's second choice to Pablo who is pretty great.
Throw in Jonas who has some serious promise and the injured Canales (who can be fantastic) and they have a pretty awesome team. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them make the quarters (or even the semi's if they get lucky with the draw) of CL. They've been pretty week in Europe recently but maybe Pellegrini is the guy to get them to live up to their potential.

Whoa... Just found out Valencia sold Pablo to Swansea. Great move by the Swans and imo a poor one by the Bats. Like I said earlier, not a huge fan of Feghouli. Might have to pick Pablo up in the fantasy league...
Also, Valencia's coach's name is Pellegrino not Pellegrini (the Malaga coach), and they also signed Gago who is another solid midfielder. Still like them to do well in Europe.

Word. And I would take Pablo over Scott Sinclair any day of the week. Really solid team. Hopefully they keep it up.

I cant understand how France is not in the first "pot" of teams for wold cup qualifying in europe. they're the third most recent world cup winner in the confederation, and while they havent done great in the last few tourneys, they havent failed to qualify for one, and did really well two world cups ago....soooo theyre ranked behind norway, portugal and england? lmao based on what? fifa rankings are retarded...
