some good choices. Went with LA confidential, followed closely by the game and face/off

good choices. enjoy all of these, although some are pretty dated
LA Confidential fo'sho though, that's a top 10 movie of the 90s period

I'm voting based on the 1997 version of me, and he loved Starship Troopers and Faceoff. ST gets the vote for communal showers.
Buy my mixtape.

It's been forever since I've seen any of these movies so I can't really call it. I think I enjoyed The Game or Face/Off the most and they're the two movies I'd prefer to rewatch if faced with a choice. I saw Lost Highway about 10 years later, in many late teens, and thought it was brilliant but I'm not sure it would have the same effect on me today.
Thought Cop Land was a bit shit and I suspect that I was right because I saw some of it on the TV recently and got bored.
Whether to Jason of Philaflava or John Podesta, I will speak my fucking perspective openly

LA Confidential pretty easily, but a lot of these choices are really fun.

Cop Land
The definition of "wild card"; startlingly well-written (kind of), well-paced, and has a great supporting cast. Lots of replay value too.

Starship Troopers is another masterpiece by my favorite crazy Dutchman. LA Confidential is a very close second.
Starship Troopers also has the all time greatest commentary track.

it's all about the characters and casting here. the story is whatever but the writing of the characters feels naturalistic, the supporting cast is whoa, and the novelty of fat Stallone still kinda holds up better than you'd expect

Like all those movies. '97 was a pretty good year!
Grosse Point Blank wins hands down for me.
Endless quotable's from that flick - the exchange between Grocer and Blank in the diner is gold.
Thinking about it, even the supporting actors are pretty much faultless. Ackroyd, Joan Cusack, Arkin, Piven.
I think John Cusack wrote this didn't he? Or co-wrote at least?

Man this shit is too hard.
Probably agree with the idea that LA Confidential is the 'best' movie.
Fifth Element and Starship Troopers are the most rewatchable.
The Game might be the best directed/shot of all of them. Watching the new blu-ray was a revelation.
Also agree that Cop Land is really good. There are 1 or 2 cop movies that come out each year that are direct imitiations of it.

Went with LA Confidential as well. It's so damn well written - especially considering the clusterfuck that the novel was.
Starship Troopers is a close second. Good selection overall.

no, face off is not good, isn't that the general consensus?
i mean...its a bad movie
voted the Game, I wasn't as impressed with LA Confidential as most people seem to be, its solid but not touching the game IMO, maybe i need to rewatch it
i need to rewatch MIB, vincent d'onofrio in edgar suit killed it

Ahh can't decide, LOVE Starship Troopers. But in the end voted Die Hard in outer space.

Faceoff is good for what it is which is a no-brainer action flick. At the time it came out it was huge. Possible best Nicholas Cage action flick other than The Rock.
