Pumped!!!
Won't be surprised if Guida out hustles Hioki, but I am hoping that Hioki comes in and puts him away.
This is an awesome card!

Re: The Official MMA Thread
same. I think Guida will keep it standing doing some annoying bouncing around. I never liked the guy but I don't see anyway Hioki wins unless he catches him in some type of scramble. He's too weak and doesn't have the cardio. Guida by decision.HopeLess wrote:Pumped!!!

The main card may be one of the most competitive match ups on paper in years.
Re: The Official MMA Thread
damn, my dog Vlad got taken out with the quickness.
Re: The Official MMA Thread
Yeah he seems to fade in the later rounds...but also won't be surprised if Hioki could score a few trips/ body kick takedowns himself.bbatson1 wrote:same. Yea I had Hioki winning the first and third for sure. I thought two was up in the air.

Seriously. Total bullshit. Hioki won 2 rounds; no way in hell Guida won all 3 rounds.bbatson1 wrote:complete and utter bullshit. Hioki clearly won that fight. Hometown bias bullshit. Fuck a Clay Guida.
That said, Hioki's cardio looked good and his stand up continues to improve. Those body shots were nasty and elbows from bottom were nice.
Guida is a joke. Very upset but I'm glad most people scored it for Hioki.

Daaaamn
Re: The Official MMA Thread
that was tough to watch.
Re: The Official MMA Thread
good card. I couldn't get into the main event but it was a good fight.
Re: The Official MMA Thread
DJ went Ongbak style in the 5th
Re: The Official MMA Thread
Yeah, that was tight.HopeLess wrote:DJ went Ongbak style in the 5th
Was hoping Antoine Dodson would K.O. him in the 2nd. I only bet on the Pettis fight, was glad to see him handle Cowboy nicely. Good card.
Re: The Official MMA Thread
^I'm still absolutely shocked how easily and brutally Pettis beatdown Cowboy.

seems like every time cowboy decides to talk shit about what he's going to do to an opponent (diaz, benson, pettis) he ends up getting worked.

I need all my favorites to win. This card is going to give me bubble guts for sure. I'm also in a small group that thinks Bigfoot may give Reem a real tough time. Everywhere i look people say Reem Ko round 1. But if he doesn't get that it may be a long night for Reem. Bigfoot is hittable but he's a very good fighter.
That main event and the Maia fight are going to have me
Re: The Official MMA Thread
I agree that Bigfoot may give Reem some trouble, especially if he is able to survive the first. I do feel like Silva has gotten very hittable, and I see Reem catching him with a short left coming in, or with an Uberknee if Silva panics and goes for a sloppy TD. I am gonna be real nervous watching though...if Silva ends up on top it's gonna be bad for Reem, especially considering his lay off.bbatson1 wrote:To quote some boston whities... this card is gonna be wicked retahded.El Rey wrote:

I really like both Rashad and Lil Nog, so it's gonna be kinda hard to watch that fight too.
Who you rooting for in the main? I think Aldo really, REALLY needs to to put Edgar away early...the longer he hangs around the worse it's gonna be I think.
I'm pulling for Thugjitsu, Volkman, Maia and praying to everything holy that Ian McAll beats the ever loving shit out of Joseph Benevidez.
Also very interested to see how T Wood does in his debut
Re: The Official MMA Thread
I want Aldo but I'm not anywhere as confident as most people. His TD is great but Frankie picks guys up. See the Maynard 2 fight. Frankie stands a lot but these are high stakes. I've very worried about a wrestle fuck.HopeLess wrote:I agree that Bigfoot may give Reem some trouble, especially if he is able to survive the first. Rashad VS Lil Nog .. i'll sit back and watch. I like both the guys but Rashad winning has more of an upside in future matchmaking since Lil Nog isn't going anywhere. I want Lil Nog but Rashad is cool with me. I think Shad will look for a high kick ko early and if anything goes wrong he wrestlefucks Lil Nog.
I want Reem to win even though i really like Bigfoot. If you watch his interviews he's cool as hell and really appreciative of everything. But as an MMA fan you HAVE to want to see Reem win. He's the SF/DREAM/K1 champ. You have to want to see him fight for the UFC belt.
I want Maia to win. Maia is one of my alltime favorite fighters. Period. I don't want him to lose.
And I want Uncle Creepy. Joe B has nipple rings.
undercard I have
155 lbs.: Evan Dunham vs. Gleison Tibau

Yeah homie , I agree on all points. I am big Overeem fan myself, and have followed his career forever. And yeah as an MMA guy who follows K1/Glory, Dream(stayed up many nights all night to watch them, haha) and Pride is still my shit. I have been screaming for Reem to be the HW champ of the UFC since Zuffa bought SF too(well Fedor is my favorite guy along with Saku but thats a moot point)bbatson1 wrote:I want Aldo but I'm not anywhere as confident as most people. I also like Bigfoot , but I want to see Ubereem get the belt.
And I unapologetically buy fighter t shirts and purchased Reem's Haysbusa shirt last year haha I'm on the war wagon with you mayn.
I feel EXACTLY the same way about the Shad/Nog fight.
I have had visions of Aldo viciously finishing Edgar...but if he lets him hang around a wrestle fuck is definitely a possibility...but Aldo when he's fresh has some insanely good, BJ Penn-esque balance so I think he'll hold his own. This card is awesome.
Oh...I love Maia as well. And I would love see him choke Fitch un-fucking-conscious.
And not, not, not a Joe B fan. I cannot stand him. Watching Alpha Males lose (even tho I like Ludwig) is one of my favorite things ever.
