Huge Primo fan but none of those are anywhere near my favourite tracks of his.
I like the Luda one the most of the lot though.

Re: Pick your favorite DJ Premier produced track
Read the choices quickly and saw Badass and Term as a selection, so I figured it was more of his newer shit, but you included Rock Stars which is in my opinion one of his best of all time. Between the beat and the scratches, easy answer.

Termanology is fucking terrible.

strictly rating these on production, it's between Get It Done, Say Goodnight, and MVP for me. Went with Get It Done

Not a popular choice but Something 2 Ride 2 is a top car tune.

"What A Mess" for sure.
Followed by "Let Em Know" and "Say Goodnight". Good random list.

Re: Pick your favorite DJ Premier produced track
Production wise The Future Is Now was one of the best albums from that Era.
Re: Pick your favorite DJ Premier produced track
The Bun B track sounded really rushed/unfinished from what i remember.
Primo usually steps up a bit when the track is for a major label album as opposed to a mixtape or an underground joint

What the fuck is going on here? To be honest, I haven't heard most of those, but that Non Phixion song was one of the worst on the album. I remember that track as being one of the first Premo beats I heard that I thought was just meh.

I'll agree, Large Pro's contribution to that album was much better than Prem's or Pete Rock's, but in no way was Rock Stars one of the worst songs on that album, IMO.Versive wrote:What the fuck is going on here? yeah same here. worst beat/song on the album was the Juju produced joint with Beatnuts on it. I thought the Necro beats were the highlights of the album.Rhyme 4 Rhyme wrote:Best albums period from that era.catfish hunter wrote:Production wise The Future Is Now was one of the best albums from that Era.

and TFIN really was the best album of that era. I still put it on the turntable about once a year. Bill & Goretex went off on that album.
Re: Pick your favorite DJ Premier produced track
Best beat on there has to be the "We Are The Future" one. Also by Large Pro.

That Premier beat is atrocious.
Easily one of the worst Premier beats I've ever heard.
Just like his Ebonics remix...that shit was booty.
I'm going with Something To Ride 2
Re: Pick your favorite DJ Premier produced track
Glad to see I'm not alone on this one. I'm as big a Non Phixion stan as anyone on here -- Grimy Awards and Electric Lucifer were 2 of my favorite albums of 2013 -- but that song is far from the best work of anyone involved.
Re: Pick your favorite DJ Premier produced track
if Non-Fiction came out now this board would hate them.
