damn, been a while since I've seen a list of shows where Archer isn't even in the top 3
The Simpsons
King of the Hill
South Park
Beavis & Butthead
Duckman/Futurama/Archer/Boondocks - really about the same, enjoy all tremendously but none to the extent of the top 4 above
Aqua Teen
Family Guy
Spawn feels like an odd man out here, haven't seen it in ages and it's hard to rank comedy and action shows together
These cartoon ones are a torture, only one Im not that fussed ons Futurama and even thats decent. Family Guy & Agua Teen Hungerforce can be funny but definitely in small doses. I think a lot of liking Family Guy boils down to whether you were brought up on gag-heavy american sitcoms, its a bit frantic if you werent. I read a good post on this last year: http://theemptypage.wordpress.com/2013/ ... bubblegum/
Yeah even though I love most of these I gotta give the edge to South Park.
I like Duckman more than I like most things though.
And I am still super depressed that the return of Beavis and Butthead only lasted a single season. In many ways it was better than ever.
vote family guy even over south park and waaaaaaayyyyy over the simpsons. aqua teen is like a parenthetical second place because sometimes that shits fucking outrageously funny and sometimes its just not fucking funny
FG over the Simpsons is some like generation gap type shit. I loved FG in the early days, but a decent amount of what that show is all about was pioneered by the Simpsons.
I am shocked FG is tied with South Park.
Thought South Park would run away with this.
The Simpsons is obv goat status but you could easily argue that South Park deserves top dog status, Simpsons peaked around season 9 is the common consensus, South Park just wrapped up season 17 and is still in top form.
No south park is Scarface or Rae - insane longetivity, some periods are better than others but never truly fell off and still capable of putting out good shit (although often coasts on rep and former glories)
very direct and flawlessly executed parodies/concept albums, got more po faced and on the nose as they went on til there was nothing holding em up. Im a huge fan of boths early to mid periods though
simpsons and south park are 1a and 1b imo. i loved me some family guy just like everyone else and maybe its because when family guy was peaking, simpsons was falling off, that some people would pick it, but you have to be really fucking out of touch, or borderline retarded to ever put family guy above the two GOAT cartoons. its not even fucking close, its not even in the same conversation.
king of the hill on the other hand, deserves honorable mention. it's pretty slept on. that show never had to resort to over the top outrageous puke/fart/shock laughs to be funny. it was more subtle, and smart with it. real fucking good. it might be my number 3.
So, why exactly did Boondocks not make the cut poll-wise? As far as American animated series are concerned, that's the only one I like. When I'm searching for quality animation, I usually look east, in particular a small island called Japan.

I put it in the post, but forgot to put it in the poll, and couldn't add it to the poll after the fact without erasing everyone's votes.
It didn't have a chance anyways.
