The only thing I'm not feeling about this is that I have to wait a year to see it. Looks amazing.

Re: Mad Max remake
So I am seriously not a trailer watcher at all, I might watch 30 seconds of a trailer to decide if i want to see something and then avoid all future trailers so it doesn't get spoiled to shit for me before it comes out.
But i have watched this at least a dozen times in the past 24 hours. And I'm going to watch Road Warrior the minute I get home.
Seriously my most wanted movie already.

Re: Mad Max remake
Watched the Road Warrior last night because of this trailer. Obv it's great, but it's one of those movies you kinda take for granted, established as classic to such an extend that you accept its greatness as default by reputation, even if you haven't seen it in ages (as was the case with me). Seeing it again for the first time in years, properly in HD, was like a revelation... I remembered things like the trailer rig and the gay villain with his pet twink and the JUST WALK AWAY but that's almost missing the forest for the trees. The overall construction of the movie as far as plotting and pacing, how much they make from such a small budget (as compared to US blockbusters of the time) and still make it look as good as any other big movie from that era, the way the shoot the desert etc etc... this shit is nearly flawless. It's not just a greatly badass action movie, it's like a mini-masterpiece of film making.

Re: Mad Max remake
Haha drizzle I just watched it this week too and was thinking the same thing, like how is this not a top-5 action movie?
The oil rig explosion is awe-inspiring, and the stunt work is some of the best shit ever put to screen, and really its the star of the movie (the motorcycle crash where the guy does like 3 flips). Gibson only actually says like 10 sentences in the whole thing.
Miller said he didn't really even have a script for the new one, he just storyboarded a ton of action sequences, wouldn't surprise me if thats how he made Road Warrior.
Makes me really optimistic that the new one is going to channel that shit hard.
