[Editor’s note: the name of the droid has been revealed as BB-8.] And when they were demonstrating how they did this thing, live on set — because it’s not CGI, that’s a live prop — I was just amazed. They let me play around with it. [Laughs] I was running it all around at the creature shop up in Pinewood.

if they make this into a functional toy people are gonna stampede
Love that Luke is back in black over white.
Love the chrome storm trooper.
Love that someone saved vaders helmet.
Love the handing off of Luke's light saber.
Sith face looks dope.
Red stage scene is probably the most interesting thing to me.

It's his old one too, the one he lost when Vader cut off his hand at Cloud City. I'm guessing the backstory of who has it, and why, will be a pretty big plot point in this flick.
This looks incredible so far, not cysed that we have to wait until Christmas. Shit has "summer blockbuster" written all over it.

my buddy told me that girl from the trailer is han & leia's kid & she has force powers and she probably bangs the black dude (last one is my own prediction)
Been cynical about the whole thing since one, but the trailers have definitely awakened the Star Wars nerd within me.
Surprised by the obvious artistic inspiration drawn from the Expanded Universe in the new trailer (Black Sun, Baron Fel and Darth Revan). Hopefully they dismiss all that shit, though.
Only thing that really bugged me about the trailer were Chewie's eyes? They weren't like that in the previous movies.
Total nerd fest for me. Listened to the trailer on headphones yesterday and realized that all of Luke's voice parts have a Vader part right underneath. A little foreshadowing?
Would be cool if they treat Luke the same way later Dune novels treat Paul Atreides - a prophet who did his part and saw both good and bad come from it but the weight of his role basically crushed him and left him alienated from the world he saved. So now he's just resigned to live in seclusion or wander in anonymity struggling to keep his power in check as it eats away at him.
Would be a nice counterbalance to Han who judging by the trailer has been living the dat good Clinton-post-presidency life since Ep6.

that doesn't sounds like disney family values... i think their kid is the black haired girl jedi. "force is strong in our family... my father had it i have it u have it" luke talking to his niece
@driz didn't read the dune sequels but i remember blind paul from the bbc series. it was a pretty dope look (kind of undermined the mystery that they used the same actor -- i imagine it worked better on the page). if they do this with luke it'll be on some yoda shit: retired recluse. maybe he'll even go to dagobah.
