Bojack Horseman

Post by unclebengi »

I think I tried to watch an episode of this last year and it didn't grab me, but I'd read a ton of good things about it recently and gave it a shot this weekend. First couple episodes were meh, but it really picked up from there. I'm about 9 episodes in and am really enjoying it. Season 2 is up for streaming now too. The vocal cast is pretty great- Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris, Aaron Paul, Paul F Tompkins, Alison Brie, Patton Oswalt, Kristen Schaal etc Sedaris is especially great.

I'm a big fan. Its one of those shows where the humor is predicated on establishing the characters, so you gotta watch a few for it to really click.

About half way through S2 now and I think it's gotten better this year, the writing is sharper.

One of the funniest things I've seen in the last few years.

Love the show. I'm a sucker for 'Hollywood humor' (started with the critic).

It's a testament to how funny I think the show is that I will endure the shows sadness. Shit goes to some dark places.

The more s2 I watch the more i'm impressed with it, they really stepped this shit up.

The dark stuff becomes more prominent in a really sharp way, beyond the scope of Bojak's personal insecurities from S1, and the show is better for it. The whole thing riffing on Cosby is NUTS.

Just watched the Mr. Peanutbutter/Diane surprise party episode and it floored me. I'm going through a divorce right now and so much of their argument rang true.

I really loved the Naomi Watts episode from season one too, those might be might favorite two to this point, but I still have most of season 2 to watch.

The part that slayed me the hardest from season 1 was the Beyonce segment

I was just thinking it was weird that nobody had a thread about this show yet.

I like it a lot, and have watched both seasons. Love the dark style of comedy and the voice acting...
