This might be the best Fury Road video yet.
Side by side comparison of the new movie versus the trilogy, crazy how many shots he reused from the Gibson movies

Had a feeling the thing about him not making any more was bullshit, and it was

"That was a completely garbled interview. I was in New York and it was so noisy and the journalist was asking me questions on a red carpet at the National Board of Review,” he said. “She completely got the wrong fragments of information that were just not true. I said no, [another ‘Mad Max’ movie] will not be next, and she took that to mean I never wanted to make another ‘Mad Max.’ It won’t necessarily be next, but I have two more stories.”

Re: Mad Max remake
I'd actually be fine with him not making another one, chances of it being as good or better seem pretty small tbh. I just like knowing he's out there thinking about it.

Re: Mad Max remake
it's meant to be a prequel too. i'm not with it. at best it would be a cool backstory for furiosa, but establishing backstories for franchise characters with imperial titles hasn't always gone so well. then again, you don't wanna ruin the happy ending of last year's movie.

Re: Mad Max remake
He's not planning a Furiosa prequel at all, any new titles would be built around Max. That piece says as much. I'm pretty sure Hardy is signed to 2 more with this character or something, I think him and Theron beefed on set.

Re: Mad Max remake
theron is an alpha female, you either beef with her or succumb to role reversal.
^^yeah looks like i got the wrong fragments of information. what i'd heard around the time the movie came out was a furiosa based prequel. the character is very cool so i'd like to see more of her, but a new story featuring max gives more leeway for a fresh take.

^dope
Even as a huge avatar fan i'm ambivalent about sequels. You can see it's left open at the end but i felt like the story was complete.
That said JC is the master of subverting expectations in sequels.
