Did orton blade or did brock go off script and really make orton bleed with those elbows?

I liked the ppv too pretty much, but booking 2 screwy finishes in a row with rusev/reigns then orton/brock was retarded. Balor/rollins and rusev/reigns should have been switched in order. Also, the new "universal title" looks horrible, I wish they just brought back the NWA/WCW big gold belt.

How do you even book that? Hey Randy we want to get some color, hard way, for a TKO finish, so Brock Lesnar is going to legit elbow you in the head a couple times. I enjoyed it, but still pretty fucked up.

Solid show but way too long. Crowd peaked too early cause how could anyone follow Cena vs AJ. Balor and Rollins was dope besides the crowd and red belt distracting everyone.

AJ/Cena was a legit 5 star match. I will always hate Cena's face character, but he did gain a lot of respect from me for that match.

So basically WWE bans blading but allows getting color the hard way from stiff elbows from a roided up 300 pound MMA fighter with what we know about concussion in this day and age? Can anyone defend this line of thinking to me?

Meltzer giving some insight on the brock/orton finish...

Edit: one more thing, the way AJ has adapted to wrestling "WWE style" has been pretty incredible to watch. He def has a bright future in the WWE, I'm happy for him

Zero evidence to support that. Every indication that it was all a work.

The fact that people doubt it is great though. Bringing back that "suspension of disbelief". Great booking. Orton is a fuckin G.

Please bring Cesaro and Joe to Smackdown.

Goddamn, Miz has steadily been killing it for over a year now with mic work. That if you love wrestling so much quit WWE and join your indie friends at the bingo hall line was ETHER. Seems like a work, but that shit hit a nerve.

New Smackdown set looked great last night, and top to bottom it's the much better written show.

Miz has always been this good. He exists as a face-value heel with the actor-persona, but then has been steadily successfully working the "TEH WORKR8Z!!!@!!" hardcore fans since 2009. That promo felt like his bursting moment.

Controversy over Lesnar's failed drug test (not likely they'd book him over a returning Orton), WWE is anti-blood, Orton did not blade (replay shows him busted open the hard way...no way they'd book that), match ended abruptly and they didn't do the F5 into RKO spot.

they would and did book him over orton. if he hardway'd orton on purpose with no permission from orton or the bookers he'd be fired. there's not a draw in the world who they'd put in a main event slot that they couldnt trust not to hurt guys on purpose. it went the way it was booked to go, Brock just hit him too hard. it was supposed to go a little longer but there was definitely supposed to be hardway blood and a tko finish

The argument for it being a legit finish is the bookers told him "use your elbow like a knife and make a huge hole in his head." What part of PG is that?

According to Meltzer and everyone else reporting about this, it was as insane as "use your elbow like a knife and make a huge hole in his head". I don't mind the booking idea of the TKO stoppage, it brought back some of the mystique to Brock, but why would they legit have to do it? Blade job vs potential for your brain leaking out of your head because Brock is a mutant seems like an easy choice.

Anyone else annoyed with the Smackdown booking of Bray? He doesn't even make the Summerslam card, and now they book him once again in a feud where really both guys can't afford the loss.

same part of pg as all the dick jokes and cursing on raw lately. they're shifting back to a more edgy presentation. the booking wasnt for him to make a 6 inch gash in orton's head. the booking was hardway blood leading to a tko finish. brock went too hard. thats completely different than brock changing the finish of the match from him doing the job to him going over by legit hurting another guy. believe it or not, that wwe paycheck is important to him or he wouldnt be there. there's no way he'd still be employed if they couldnt trust him to do the job when told to.

The bottom line is booking brock to get color the hardway with elbows as opposed to just blading is full retard status.

If Orton blades, nobody is talking about the finish. Nobody is wondering if Brock went off script.

They accomplished exactly what they were going for with that finish.

Well that's fine, and I agree. In a vacuum, I actually liked the finish. However, what I don't like is this finish occurred when they have banned chair shots due to concussions, banned blood in matches, banned blading, turned their rating to PG etc. It's the lack of consistency that bothers me...

I'm not a fan of blading, or blood in 2016 really, but it's the elbow-hardway to what's essentially the back of Orton's head that baffles me.

Like, a hardway with fists you have at least some control over, especially if you go for the standard hardway spot (the square above the eyebrows.

Should have just used fake blood like they convincingly did with Reigns.

It's surreal and so cool to see CZW producing so many quality talents. Only a matter of time before Adam Cole (baybay) becomes the hottest thing in WWE.
