Re: Retro NES System
Hush, could I get one in time for Christmas?
Re: Retro NES System
Yeah, I'm trying to keep some in stock for this reason. I ship 2-day Priority, so as long as you order by Dec 19 or so you should be good.Dan wrote:Hush, could I get one in time for Christmas?
Re: Retro NES System
Cool. I'll take one then,

The NES Classic Edition has been hacked and now you can add more games.

Re: Retro NES System
I have to think this is the month they become available for the rest of us schmucks.
Re: Retro NES System
I got one on launch day. Showed up at Target about 90 minutes before they opened and ended up being the first one there.
Re: Retro NES System
Yeah... and even though I can play all this shit on the Pi, this still looks slick as hell!Philaflava wrote:

I'll cop one when they're readily available just to be able to do this.

Re: Retro NES System
Update: Etsy shut my shop down on the grounds that my items aren't truly "handmade". This happened despite many other shops selling basically the same type of items on Etsy as we speak. I'm guessing it had more to do with the legality of selling an item that contains copyrighted rom files of games, but Etsy didn't explicitly state that I'm assuming to cover themselves. Maybe that could be looked at as an admission on their part that they've been letting copyrighted works be sold on their website unchecked.
Anyway, I have 4 Raspberry Pi 3 Model B's left for sale, so I thought I would make another post here.
The price is $100 plus shipping for the following items:
-Raspberry Pi 3 Model B in a case with heatsinks and a 16GB microSD card
-HDMI cable
-Power adapter
If you want controllers they are $20 additional apiece. Here is the controller I'm offering: https://www.amazon.com/Buffalo-Classic- ... ffalo+snes
The system comes with the following sets of games pre-loaded:
SNES
NES
Gameboy Advance (Top 300+ games based on Metacritic scores)
Gameboy
Gameboy Color
Famicom Disk System
Virtual Boy
Sega Genesis/MegaDrive
Sega 32x
Sega Master System
Sega Game Gear
Sega SG-1000
Turbografx-16/PC Engine
Super Grafx
Neo-Geo
Neo-Geo Pocket
Neo-Geo Pocket Color
Atari 2600
Atari 7800
Atari Lynx
PrBoom (Doom shareware version)
Note: All included games for each system above are "complete" sets unless otherwise noted.
I have 3 clear cases and 1 white one available:
If you PM me your address I can calculate the actual shipping costs. I accept PayPal. Thank you for your time!

Re: Retro NES System
how do you play virtual boy games without the OG console? Does the design still work if you aren't looking through two separate eye pieces?
Re: Retro NES System
Yeah, it's basically just flat 2d graphics in red and black with no 3d effect at all. I played the Wario game and other than everything being red, it was fine.Tommy Bunz wrote:how do you play virtual boy games without the OG console? Re: Retro NES System
Is there any way to add games to the Pi? My brother noticed some games missing from the NES library. I sent him the ROM's for the games he was looking for,m but he couldn't figure out where to add them or how to open them.
Re: Retro NES System
He will need to connect the Pi to his local network by either wifi or LAN. From a PC on the same network open a cmd prompt and type 'ping recalbox'. Type the ip shown into a web browser to open the web interface. From there he can drag and drop the roms into the nes folder. They can be zipped or unzipped.
Re: Retro NES System
Finally got my hands on an NES Classic Edition. Trying to decide whether to hack it for strictly NES games or add some other systems as well.

Re: Retro NES System
damn, they selling out within 20 minutes of popping up
Re: Retro NES System
After messing around with hacking the mini NES I actually think the Raspberry Pi offers a superior experience overall.
I am glad the hack exists though as it provides an easy way to round out the collection of games already included and add your favorites (or every NES game ever made).
I also tried adding some SNES games but the sound seemed a little odd when I tried Super Mario World.

how is it now the 2nd week of March and these things are sitting on the shelves of Target? I thought the craziness was going to be over after the '16 holidays.

Re: Retro NES System
yup. hence the prices sky rocketing on ebay.
question about the Pi, do they have a wireless remote option besides the PS3 hack?

Re: Retro NES System
Rumors that Nintendo is planning on releasing a mini-SNES this winter.
Also read somewhere that Nintendo didn't think the mini-NES would be nearly that successful and didn't have a very favorable distribution deal. They pulled this version so they could rerelease it later where they make more $ per unit. Not sure if thats true though.
