Trendz Vs Contemporary Jeep Music
2 dope and (at least to me) classic albums that should be in any Hip Hop fans collection, but which was the better album?
OR
and while we are at it, does any one have a 192 (or higher) version of the Trendz album please? my CD is scratched to hell.

Re: Trendz Vs Contemporary Jeep Music
I never really felt Contemporary Jeep Music at all. In fact, I really can't listen to it at all and thank goodness I taped it from a friend back when it came out instead of buying it. However Trendz... coupled with Akinyele's Vagina Diner made my summer of '93 very special. That Trendz... album still brings chills to me when I play it. They obviously had a great chemistry. Why didn't they come right back with another album in '94 or '95?Jaz wrote:

Trendz had some great tracks and 12" rmx's. I thought the album was ok but FAR from great..CJM was just a solid album start to end. I liked the Puba flows and beats. I played the shit out of the tape.
CMJ > Trendz for me.
CMJ > Trendz for me.

This is a nice match-up Jaz. Very close, but I'll take Trends...
Here's a 192 rip of the album for those who requested it.

Bought Trendz on my first trip to london back in 93 after hearing Off & On the night before on the radio back at the hotel.
To this day I really enjoy that album alot.
Flip da script, Crak da weasel and tearz on CMJ is pure classics to me and the MC Aint Shit interlude used to crack me up all the time but I always felt that album was so-so.
Found this old demo joint with both Trends, Da King & I and Pudgee!

yeah, I changed that, they are classic to me, but I can understand why they wouldn't be to others.Philaflava wrote:I think both albums are very dope. Very dope obscure 90's shit that still get play today. I'll go with Da King & I because like Block said I think it aged better and was always the better of the two.
But, I would not use the word "classic" to describe either of them.
