Horror Marathon
Hi.
So me and some friends have been watching AMC's Friday the 13th Fear Fest they've got going on. We gots to thinking that, in the coming days, we would each pick a scary film and do our own mini horror marathon.
So, ye film gurus of tha P, I come to you. What, in your valued opinion, is some shit that:
a) people potentially haven't seen/heard of
b) will make people wet themselves on my plush furnishings
Help me. Plz.

Apparently Spartan doesn't even remember his own preparedness for stuff like this. :)

Anything really. So vague that I wouldn't know where to start.Spartan wrote:

That said, I read the thread cash linked to. Not so much into the fetish type shit (at least I don't think so...). "Martyrs" has always intrigued me. Would that be a decent choice? I never thought of it as horror though...
I guess what I'm looking for is mindfuckery...

How could you hate that ending?? One of the most scenes I've ever seen.
Re: Horror Marathon
Won't make you shit your pants but this was creepy as hell. Felt nervous the whole time I was watching.

Strange, I thought the movie was terrible until the ending, which kind of made the movie worth it.

Noroi: The Curse
Re: Horror Marathon
I will be sitting in the dark watching Halloween & Suspiria again on the 31st.

Re: Horror Marathon
Noroi is ridiculously creepy. Probably the best found-footage horror. Actually it is with certainty. Kario (Pulse) is the best Japanese ghost-movie (at least in modern times), so proceed with that if Noroi manages to spark an interest in j-horror.
I will revisit Halloween 1 & 2 in sucession, when I get an evening off. I agree that #4 is a cracking 80's horror, Spartan.
Positive A, have you been watching any of these movies?

Re: Horror Marathon
I played Audition for friends the other night as I'd seen it before. Still love that movie.
We watched "The House of the Devil" which was great.
We also watched "The Thing", "Halloween" and some others. I have most of what's been recommended and we will soldier through a grip load on the 31st.
Gonna check for that Noroi.

Re: Horror Marathon
absentia was soooo shitty, god damn that ending was wack
Re: Horror Marathon
This is a fucking horrible movie. Shitty writing, acting, and CGI. A waste of time. Stay away, Pos.Combo7 wrote:

I thought it was a refreshing change from today's run of the mill indie horror flicks.tehgiftofgab wrote:absentia was soooo shitty, god damn that ending was wack

Re: Horror Marathon
it had a cool concept but the ending was just sooo lame
Re: Horror Marathon
So I've been working my way through my Halloween films and intentionally leaving Carpenter's classic as last. Finally put on my old Halloween DVD and the disc wouldn't play, on top of that my mask broke last night. FML!
Time to upgrade those films to Blu-Ray!
