The first lines we hear from Cakes Da Killa on his sophomore release, The Eulogy, are “Pockets stay on swole, peep the motherfucking cash flow, niggas pay my loans just to finger fuck my asshole”.
I don't really have a horse in this race one way or another, but when mishka suddenly trots out a drag queen rapper of their own just as le1f and mikky blanco start to gain notoriety it kinda feels like a blatant cash in
I'm going to go ahead a put a disclaimer right here saying that I write for the Mishka Bloglin, just in case.
I assume you're saying that Cakes Da Killa is cashing in on the trend, right?
He's been around for a while, but you're just becoming aware of him and that's fine but I'm not sure how Mishka would cash-in by releasing a free album from a up-and-coming dude; on the brightside they started "cashing in" on Mykki Blanco and Le1f pretty early on since they are good friends of the label, and you can see their faces in past season's lookbooks (alongside Cakes'). Also Mishka has released a t-shirt with Le1f's face on it a few months back. Now that's paper.
How does Mishka decide who is going to be hot & sexy & cool & click-tastic week-in and week-out?
Is it anything like "Family Guy"'s writing process?
ya boy A$AP hittin tranny pussy on the lo but PMW is absolute fire.
"i cant listen to any rap... i think it all is pretty much boring to listen to.... i would never listen to some underground or mtv-underground shit when im home washing dishes or whatever... but some people still like rap... god bless em, thats who buys my records!"- sole
Has anybody heard of a gay rapper from Canada called Malcolm Rentboy?
He recently dropped a Run-DMC remake called Queer We Go (Live At The Bumhouse) which The Fader called "a strong populist hermetic corrective to Cartesian dualism, and also offers the possibility of a queer or feminist agency and collective practice in the face of overwhelming gendered power"

I'll say this tho, there's a tremendous irony in the fact that Mindbender spent years exhaustively investigating who the queer rapper was only for it to turn out to have been him all along.
