Wow...one of the most powerful 11 minutes of audio I've ever heard. So freaking on point. Plan to share this with everyone I possibly can. They discuss the Chicago housing situation in one of those recent Chief Keef/Vice docs as well, the way Bomani was able to put it into words was perfect though. I've always questioned why Chi has elevated L Trains, makes sense now.

Re: Donald Sterling and the Aryan Brotherhood
Conservative blogs are flipping the fuck out over the Sterling decision. It's funny how I read their comments accusing black people of being racist, but their posts are full of racist innuendo. Oh and everything is, "Thanks, Obummer."
I get the free speech argument, but since the tapes are out, nobody in their right mind would want to play for Sterling in an upcoming season again.

Also, when you belong to a private entity like the NBA, if they don't want you, they don't have to accept you. Looks like NBA bylaws will swing for the fences and get this dude outta here. Free speech protects you from the government, not in the private sector.
Re: Donald Sterling and the Aryan Brotherhood
This. Free speech also does not mean you get to talk but are free of criticism either.Big Breeze wrote:Also, when you belong to a private entity like the NBA, if they don't want you, they don't have to accept you. Re: Donald Sterling and the Aryan Brotherhood
I would love it if he he starts saying all the crazy racists stuff other owners have done under the table.
It is hilarious that all these owners act appalled. Forget the law suits and all that craziness, Sterling did not hide who he was from anyone. He openly asked David Aldridge, a REPORTER, during their first and only conversation ever, why black woman had some many kids out of wedlock. You really think he hid his views from the other owners for this many years? They knew what he stood for for a long time.

Pretty close. I'm guessing no picks cause they think they can get him to sell the team.Ramen wrote:Lifetime ban plus max fine and forfeiture of draft picks.

Re: Donald Sterling and the Aryan Brotherhood
How come Sharpton and Jackson are labelled 'race peddlers', but the conservatives that counter them at every step aren't?

Wonder if they go after the Devos fam next for their anti-LGBT rhetoric and actually using their money to fight equal marriage acts.

Jim Gray said he spoke to Sterling before the decision was announced, and that he stated that he would not sell the team.

Re: Donald Sterling and the Aryan Brotherhood
I mean, sponsorships are crumbling. It came out that tonight's games were going to be boycotted by the players (not just the clips and warriors) so i'm sure no player in the league will want to play for the clips if he refuses to sell....sooo i think he's got no choice. Money going to start plummeting real fast.

Re: Donald Sterling and the Aryan Brotherhood
If Sterling wasn't banned, Dubs were set to walk off the floor tonight:
PEACE
http://blogs.mercurynews.com/thompson/2 ... ady-to-go/The plan was set, the product of a 30-minute players meeting.
The Warriors were going to go through pre-game warm-ups and take part in the national anthem and starting line-up introductions. They were going to take the floor for the jump ball, dapping up the Clippers players as is customary before games.
Then once the ball was in the air, they were just going to walk off. All 15 of them.
“It would have been our only chance to make a statement in front of the biggest audience that we weren’t going to accept anything but the maximum punishment,” Curry said. “We would deal with the consequences later but we were not going to play.”
