Re: Pick One
Going with The Main Ingredient, I remember playing it MUCH more than Do You Want More even though I like that album a lot. The anticipation of TMI after MATSB album was a strong listening factor for me and DYWM is the first Roots album I ever heard but their was some anticipation for that album after The Roots ripped down WNYU radio with their live performance.
Both albums kill it with the bonus remix b-sides. I would find myself listening to TMI more than DYWM today as well mainly due to my preference of production style and/or mood I'm in (Pete's boom-bap, scratching sample-based wizardry vs. The Roots mellow, Jazzy & soulful live instrumentation).

Re: Pick One
main ingredient by a lot....one of the most listenable albums ever made...nothing even close to a skippable track
while i get what the roots were trying to do as far as the jazz thing and wanting a feel of just kind of jamming out it in many instances led to the songs running on way to long which really hurts its replay value for me...the tracks that are good on dywm are outstanding but the album really bogs down particularly the middle of it
plus any album that can sample the same song (just rhymin with biz) SIX different times and make it work gets my vote

Cleaning my house, stoned, on a Saturday or Sunday morning/afternoon, DYWM easily.
Toes in sand, sipping a Corona, peeping those piping plovers, DYWM on most days.
Main Ingredient in virtually every other circumstance. Voted that. Sorry Gloss.

TMI by far for me. Pete and CL were so buttery together. The sound of everything was just perfect from the EP through this album.
I love DYWM but I'd take TMI 100/100 times.
Black Thought is a top 10 MC tho and CL is not.

My digital version and burned cd version of The Main Ingredient for the car looks like this...
I do own the original CD I bought the day it came out and the original Vinyl LP I bought 4-5 years later.
