I think his success is due to him going to Loyola in New Orleans and studying music business.
I have no idea what the exact degree was called, but yeah he went to study how to be a success in the music industry. I was volunteer dj'ing at WTUL, Tulane's college radio station and I remember seeing his albums in our "local" section. There was this other dude who worked there, I think his name was Noah,
and I'm certain he put the albums in our catalog because he was trying to get props by interviewing and reaching out to almost any rapper that would talk to him and posting it on his blog. I remember one night around Thanksgiving time or so, 2009 maybe, and he had Fiend in the station with about 10 dudes loitering about as I walked in to do a late night shift after his radio show.
Anyhow, this is how he was marketing himself in 2009 or so
Side note: I remember during the interview with Fiend, Fiend said he was taking to people trying to get a track together with Justin Bieber, and this was before Bieber had a deal and was just a YouTube sensation. Yeah, Fiend wanted to work with Justin Bieber.

Fiend is great. G Eazy is terrible. I mean, I've never heard his music but you can just tell.

All of this reminds me of why I really hate 99% of the white rappers out there.
