not really feelin the hook, but the rest sounds pretty good to me....interested enough to listen to the rest of the album when it drops (Sep.28 release date)

Same. Was surprised to find that I was feeling it and then that hook kicked in.djfilthyrich wrote:not really feelin the hook, but the rest sounds pretty good to me....interested enough to listen to the rest of the album when it drops (Sep.28 release date)

Re: Cypress Hill - "Elephants On Acid" (NEW ALBUM)
The Indian sounds gave me an odd feeling on the first listen, it feels out of place with what I'm used to hearing from Cypress but I guess their reinventing themselves. A few months ago, I heard Black Milk say he's producing the whole next Cypress Hill LP. I guess this is his work?
Indian samples are a difficult fit in Hip Hop beats, seems like only a select few people have been able to pull it off in a way that the majority think sounds dope.

I have slight interest in this. *shrugs*
Re: Cypress Hill - "Elephants On Acid" (NEW ALBUM)
Sounds much better now with the arabic chorus rather than the fake dancehall hook.

Should be dope, Muggs been in a zone now for last few years. Probably itching to get back into things watching Alchemist's wave over the last few years.

I'm sure the Cypress Hill album wont have any of that no drums bullshit. Still can't believe Muggs does that lame shit now too. smhRhyme 4 Rhyme wrote:Should be dope, Muggs been in a zone now for last few years. Finally just listened to the album. IT'S WACK!! Barely 2 songs I only like a little. I will NOT be buying the Vinyl. Such a fuckin disappointment, especially Muggs on that no drums type of nonsense. smfhTheTed wrote:Muggs' albu, Dia del Asesinato, is out now, pretty good: https://open.spotify.com/album/1cy2Y6AYprLKbnUuLWFH8R" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Got to admit, I found the new Soul Assassin's project kind of underwhelming. I was hoping for something better after just how much I liked both of the recent collabos with Doom.

I really love the Mach tracks and the one with Rae, the rest is variable. But I like that he's working with younger, emerging rappers

I was feelin the Kool G Rap solo, the Kool G Rap & MF Doom collab, and the 2 tracks with Raekwon on it. Don't much care for the rest of the album.
Re: Cypress Hill - "Elephants On Acid" (NEW ALBUM)
Enjoying a good portion of the new Cypress Hill album; I personally think it's way better than that recent Soul Assassins project. There's still the usual frat rap stoner shit you would expect on here, but this has that old Temples of Boom and IV vibe about it. B-Real and Sen Dog are hardly amazing rappers, but this is a good recent example of mediocre artists being way more entertaining than superior rappers lost up their pretentious buttholes. Hardly worthy of making any end of the year lists, but this is easily their best album since IV, imo.
Muggs renewed my interest for his Roc Marci collabo after the Soul Assassins let down.

Its got a good album flow track to track . the atmospheric beats stand out the most . theres some good flows through the album too . basicly your typical 90s stoner rap pushed to current day
