Wouldn't feel right somehow including these. I know O is from NC but none of his music feels Southern, same goes for DOC. Besides, I featured DOC in WCC for that reason. Jay, yeah you could make an argument for. But dude is a fucking nomad and lived everywhere. Good picks on the rest tho.TheBigSleep wrote: The D.O.C. – The Formula

Real #YoungBleedHive headz know that A Fool is better than How You Do That?. The latter is a classic and all, but once you've heard the former it's impossible not to think that Beats By The Pound fucked Happy Perez's production up, imho.
Could also take it back to the O.G Magnolia Slim days for Soulja Slim:

Re: The Best Southern Hip-Hop Songs of All-Time
I never followed Southern rap closely so I'm looking forward to this. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned anything from Project Pat's Crook By Da Book. Some great tracks on there and I remember it got a lot of love on here way back in the day. It bothers me deeply that Apple Music and all the other streaming music platforms only have the clean version.

Re: The Best Southern Hip-Hop Songs of All-Time
I love this one by K.R.I.T., great blend of live instruments, lyrics and singing.
I recently took a trip down to North Carolina for the first time to see family, nice laid-back vibe compared to the city life. Been a fan of LB since their debut, my favorite songs are this one, Ain't Nobody Like Me and Light It Up.

Fun tidbit, Aztek from that Draped Up remix, who was signed to Roc La Familia, is on SMILF on Showtime.

if you wanna include any jay elec "the levee's broke" would be a good pick cause it's explicitly about NOLA
